Florida is packed with a million things. Heck, there’s more real (and artificial) America that’s trickled down into Florida over the last half-century than in most states. That’s doubly true for Orlando, the state’s defacto central-most city. Now take that, and the amped-up entertainment precedent in the area (ranging from strip clubs to Disney World to The Holy Land Experience) and try making a music festival to compete. Imagine you have tons of money and experience in putting on festivals, but have never put on a gig in America before.
That’s the position Festival Republic was in with Orlando Calling: trying to be all things to all people. In a place like Orlando, FL, you can hardly blame the folks behind Reading, Leeds and Glastonbury in the U.K. for going big and going hard with that – it’s the only way they know. And God bless ‘em for booking stylistically diverse (you could argue nonsensically disparate) acts like The Raconteurs, The Roots and Drive-By Truckers, all performing simultaneously Saturday night.
The woman, who was with one of her daughters at the time, told police that Miller first ducked down in an attempt to hide before claiming, “It was an accident.”
Miller was chased by the woman’s husband and caught by Disney security as he ran for the park exit, the Sentinel said.
According to the report, Miller had previously been prohibited from entering Disney’s properties although a reason for his ban was not given. He was arrested on charges of voyeurism, loitering or prowling and trespass after warning, the Sentinel reported.
Miller is a resident of Winter Park, Fla., located about 25 miles northeast of the famous theme park.
The Sentinel said his long court record of prior arrests include charges of urinating or defecating in public, battery, carrying a concealed weapon, soliciting a prostitute, driving under the influence and petty theft.

Prosecutors say the victim was about 14 years old when Coriolant recruited her in 2009 to work for him as a prostitute. He allegedly plied her with alcohol and drugs to control her behavior.
Prosecutors say the girl worked as a prostitute in New Orleans for about a month last year before she was arrested and sent back to relatives in Orlando.

An Orlando man faces federal sex-trafficking charges after authorities say he forced a teenage girl into prostitution.
Benson December Coriolant, 29, was arrested late last month by federal agents in the Tampa area, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Louisiana. He faces a senctence of up to life in prison if convicted.
According to the indictment against him, Coriolant recruited the teen to work as a prostitute beginning in 2009 in the Orlando area, giving her alcohol and drugs and taking the money she earned.
Coriolant then arranged for the girl to work in the New Orleans area, using a classified-advertising website to advertise and find clients, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said. The girl was arrested and returned to live with relatives in Orlando, but later sent back to New Orleans and prostitution by Coriolant, according to the indictment.
Osceola County — On October 27-28, Osceola County Sheriff’s deputies with the Community Response Team West conducted an undercover prostitution operation which resulted in the arrest of 35 people for prostitution and drug related charges.
The operation took place at the intersection of West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway and Siesta Lago Boulevard in Kissimmee.
The operation was a result of complaints from businesses of illegal activity in the area.

SPRINGFIELD – A truck driver and a prostitute were charged in federal court with transporting a minor to engage in prostitution, for driving a 15-year-old girl they had met through Facebook from Tennessee to Illinois to teach her how to become a prostitute.

After the teen agreed to go on the trip, Lidy contacted Sanford, telling him that the teen wanted to go along, so she could learn to be a prostitute. Sanford, who was planning to deliver a load of cars to Chicago, agreed to take the teen.
