ORLANDO, Fla. — The Orlando City Council is set to vote Monday on a new ordinance that would restrict adult businesses to industrial areas around town.
The proposal got preliminary approval during a hearing in August. The city said it hasn’t updated its adult business ordinance in over 30 years and this rule change will help the city to comply with recent court rulings.
City leaders said by considering several industrial areas as possible locations for adult businesses, they avoid creating a red light district where all of the strip clubs would be concentrated in one neighborhood.
