Orlando Strip Clubs: Florida Pastor Found Dead in Times Square Hotel

On Friday, the body of Florida’s 8,000-member megachurch pastor Reverend Zachery Tims Jr. was found dead in a Times Square, New York, hotel with a white-powdered substance believed to be narcotics on his body, reports the Wall Street Journal.
Tims was found lying on his back between the bedroom and living room area when a hotel worker went inside his room to check the minibar.
The white substance was found inside the right pocket of his shorts in a glassine envelope. According to officials the power is being tested.
According to Tims’ website and memoir published in 2006, he grew up as a drug addict and was then saved.
In 1996 he and his now-former wife founded New Destiny Christian Center in Orlando, Florida.
He and his wife Riva divorced in 2009 after 15 years of marriage after he admitted to a year-long affair with a stripper.

Tims was in town for a meeting and was supposed to leave for Texas last Thursday, according to a law enforcement official with knowledge of the matter. He failed to check out that day, and on Friday, when he still had not checked out, maids went to the room.
Tims grew up as a drug addict in Maryland and was later “miraculously saved,” according to his website and a memoir published in 2006. After discovering Christianity, he earned degrees in accounting and theology and worked at a ministry in Baltimore. In 1996, he and his wife, Riva, moved to Orlando, where they founded the New Destiny Christian Center.
At the ministry’s first service, six people gathered in a hotel room, according to the ministry’s website. In 1999, they purchased a church, and two years later, the ministry expanded to a second 21-acre-location dubbed the “City of Destiny.”
In 2009, Tims and his wife divorced after he admitted to a yearlong affair with a stripper. The couple had been married for 15 years and had four children.

Orlando Strip Clubs: Offensive Obama Impersonator Isn’t Face GOP Should Put Forward

Obama-impersonator Reggie Brown launched into a series of racially-tinged “jokes” about the president’s racial background, the president’s parents (for example: “My mother loved a black man and, no, she was not a Kardashian,”), and perhaps most regrettable of all, a photo comparison of the president and first lady to Fred G. Sanford and Aunt Esther from Sanford and Son. [Check out political cartoons about the 2012 GOP field.]
Simultaneous to the audience reacting with nervous laughter, the press seized on the remarks, followed immediately by the Twittersphere of the Left. Reaction, as you can imagine, was not positive.
It should be easy to dismiss the event as a bad decision and total aberration. However, in this age of viral YouTube videos, tweets, Facebook comments, and instant news, this happens all too frequently.
Earlier this month, a YouTube video criticizing Democratic congressional candidate Janice Hahn used such gratuitous and racially stereotypical hip-hop imagery (think guns and strippers and language not suitable for the airwaves or this blog), that it has inflamed minorities in California and caused a backlash threatening to obscure legitimate questions about Hahn, potentially helping her candidacy. Orlando Strip Clubs: Strip Club Owner Gets $250K From Taxpayers

Strip Club Owner Gets $250K From City Of Winter Park

WINTER PARK, Fla. — Winter Park is paying a strip club owner $250,000, according to officials. It’s all over a legal settlement following several raids at Club Harem on Lee Road.

Club Harem was the site of several high profile raids and police said they made numerous arrests, but some officers were stuck with their own problem. One officer was investigated for stalking a stripper and another vice cop was fired for dating a dancer, said officials.

Club Harem eventually closed and owners filed a lawsuit, claiming they had been targeted because Winter Park didn’t want a strip club in city limits, officials said.

Club Harem can reopen as a strip club, but the city said if the club stays closed for ninety days then it would lose its grandfather clause status. After that, officials said the club would no longer be able to operate as an adult club.
