Orlando Escorts: Special DeLand police unit focuses on trending crimes

The unit started as a pilot program five years ago during the summer when property crimes saw an upsurge. Ridgway suggested the use of the team under former Chief Ed Overman. The team then consisted of one sergeant and three officers. Spreading to areas where property crimes were high, the team seized weapons, narcotics and made several prostitution arrests.
“After we saw the success of the pilot program, we felt there was a need for the CST and we created a permanent unit that is a part of patrol,” Ridgway said.

Another example of the team’s success included an abandoned house on Delaware Avenue. Officers, along with the West Volusia Narcotics Task Force, would arrest drug dealers and prostitutes but others would still use the house, Ridgway said. So, the team spearheaded an investigation that showed the house was a nuisance and together with code enforcement had the house condemned and demolished, Ridgway said.

Orlando Escorts: Area prostitution sting nets fitness guru

Area prostitution sting nets fitness guru

One of the women arrested from Lake County was Rashidat Owe, 31, 2811 Ruleme Place #908, Eustis, charged with soliciting prostitution. According to a story in Muscle & Strength, the 5-foot, 11-inch Owe didn’t like her appearance and, in February 2010, began working out, quickly dropping her weight from 222 pounds to 170 pounds in eight months.

Also arrested from Lake County were Jennifer Chasteen, 31, and Jaclyn Gottlieb, 34, who share the same address in Sorrento at 25801 Shawnee St. Both were charged with soliciting prostitution, but Gottlieb’s count was listed as a “felony – 3rd or subsequent offense.”
The arrests of Chasteen and Gottlieb were “significant” because they were among nine women who answered ads by “detectives posing as men having bachelor parties and wanting prostitutes,” the sheriff’s department said. “These women agreed to have sex for money with multiple partners,” a press release stated.

Orlando Escorts: College sports scandals prove leadership is lacking

College sports scandals prove leadership is lacking
Prostitutes, booze and bounties have become irrelevant pastimes in college sports. And free tattoos with a little side cash for college athletes? Well, that’s elementary stuff.
We’ve moved on to far more sinister acts of moral destruction in this “pure” world of amateur athletics.
Raise your hand if you predicted former Miami booster Nevin Shapiro would be the least vile character in the 2011 edition of “when college sports goes bad.”
Some heavy thoughts weighed on my mind after a group of reckless Florida A&M band members hazed a drum major to death two weeks ago in downtown Orlando.
When are we finally going to hit the ground on this ethics free fall? And who, if anyone, is morally qualified to clean up the mess?
