Kissimmee police said 76 people were arrested on charges of assignation to commit prostitution and enter a dwelling to commit prostitution.  Some faced additional charges, including a Kissimmee man also arrested on a charge of carrying a concealed weapon by a felon/sexual predator.

The detectives spent part of the week aimed at prostitution advertisements from websites such as backpage.com and craigslist.com.  During the course of the week, detectives replied to ads and also posted a decoy ad on the websites.
“Prostitution can bring with it drug-related crimes, robbery and burglary.  By conducting operations like this one, we are taking steps on curtailing these types of crimes within the city of Kissimmee,” Kissimmee Police Chief Fran Iwanski said.

Members of the Kissimmee Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division as well as St. Cloud Police detectives used a decoy house for their operation.
Detectives said they responded to prostitution advertisements on internet sites such as backpage.com and Craiglist.

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) – A prostitution sting in Osceola County resulted in the arrests of 76 people.
The Kissimmee Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division along with St. Cloud Police Department detectives spent the last week in a decoy house targeting individuals who use the internet for criminal activity.
The detectives spent part of the week targeting prostitution advertisements from internet sites such as backpage.com and craigslist.com. During the course of the week, detectives replied to ads on the websites and also posted a decoy add on the websites.
All were charged with Assignation to Commit Prostitution and Enter a Dwelling to Commit Prostitution unless otherwise noted.

Crooms Academy received national recognition last year for its on-spot technology when it was named “Most Connected Classroom” in the country by U.S. News & World Report. But raunchy rap songs were not what district officials had in mind for the school to be plugged into digitally.
One of the songs New played in class was “Rack City” by rapper Tygra, a song dealing with drugs, sex and prostitution that repeatedly uses a disparaging reference to blacks. The song contains at least three dozen inappropriate words or phrases, including a reference to sex with a grandmother.

To our dismay, the Motown Museum is closed on Sundays, but dinner was waiting for us at Asim’s house in Ferndale: daal, brown rice and salad. Asim = Awesome. He fed us several times, housed us, made tea for us, set up the show and became my new favorite person. The show was at a place called The Loving Touch, which used to be a massage parlor and still has the original (suggestive?) flashing signs above the stage area (which I’m told usually houses a foosball table). It also has a green corner with a glass ceiling and wall plants. There are about ten pool tables and a bar with half-price drinks for bands that amounted to next to nothing compared to D.C. prices. We drank many WAB Raspberry Blonde ales that are brewed on that same block.

Chief Rick Myers said Friday he wants to help heal the emotional wounds caused by the shooting death of Trayvon Martin in February by neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman. He says he will reach out to people in Sanford who feel they’ve been ignored by the police.
